This report was generated at 2010 UTC with six new discoveries: approaching risk-listed 2020 BW13 (MPEC), three outbound objects: 2020 BL13 (MPEC), 2020 BK13 (MPEC), and 2020 BG13 (MPEC), and two already departed: 2020 BM13 (MPEC), which went by at about 6.8 LD on January 22nd (uncertainty +/- 1.35 hours), and 2020 BJ13 (MPEC), which slipped past at about 5.6 LD the same day (uncertainty +/- 19 minutes). Today's DOU MPEC has follow-up for approaching objects 2020 BK10 and risk-listed 2020 BW5, inbound 2020 BN12 and 2020 BL8, and six departed close-passers: 2020 BW10, 2020 BW8, 2020 BS, 2020 BD, and including risk-listed 2020 BP12 and 2020 AY1.

Notes: Ten times the distance to the Moon (ten LD) has no astronomical importance but is a useful boundary for reporting about transient natural objects that approach our planet's gravitational sphere of influence (SOI), which has a radius of about 2.41 LD from Earth's center. This puts a focus on some of the most important and very best NEO observation work, representative of the much larger NEO discovery and tracking effort. Object temporal distances are derived by A/CC from JPL Horizons data. See also current sky chart and object details (alt-details), ephemerides, and today's timeline.

An impact solution, also known as a "virtual impactor" (VI), is not a prediction but rather a possibility derived from a variant orbit calculation that cannot be eliminated yet based on the existing data. Elimination can come quickly with just a little further observation or may take weeks or months, sometimes years. Once superceded or eliminated, a former impact solution has zero relevance to an object's risk. See Jon Giorgini's "Understanding Risk Pages" to learn more.
