Four objects reported inside ten LD

There are four objects reported to be within ten lunar distances (LD) of our planet today. Intruder 2014 AW32 exits Earth's Hill sphere, passing from 3.06 to 5.79 LD. More distantly, 2014 AE29 is outbound from 4.90 to 5.58 LD, 2014 AZ32 from 6.22 to 6.43 LD, and risk-listed 2014 AD16 from 6.80 to 8.63 LD.

This report was generated at 1649 UTC with follow-up in today's DOU MPEC for 2014 AZ32, 2014 AW32, and departed 2013 YL2.

When last checked at 2359 UTC today, the Minor Planet Center's Near Earth Object discovery Confirmation Page (NEOCP) had 28 objects listed. Of these, seven were "one nighters." So far The Tracking News has counted a total of 30 listings on the NEOCP today.

An impact solution, also known as a "virtual impactor" (VI), is not a prediction but rather a possibility derived from a variant orbit calculation that cannot be eliminated yet based on the existing data. Elimination can come quickly with just a little further observation or may take weeks or months, sometimes years.
