The MPC's NEO Confirmation Page has 21 listings: 5 new, 16 updated
When last checked at 2356 UTC today, the Minor Planet Center's NEO discovery Confirmation Page (NEOCP) had five new and sixteen updated listings. Of these, fourteen were "one nighters." So far The Tracking News has counted a total of 35 objects listed on the NEOCP at some point today.

MPEC 2008-C85 - "16:08 UT" - 2008 CN116
- K08CB6N 2008 CN116 (small asteroid, Earth MOID=2.6 LD, H=26.6 ~16m) was discovered at 0345 UT on 11 Feb. by the MLS, which observed it at Feb. 11.16-20p8, 12.12p4, and 13.15p2. The discovery was confirmed by Young/Table Mtn. (Feb. 12.18-20p4), Great Shefford Obs. (Feb. 12.82-83p3 & 12.94p1), and Schiaparelli Obs. (Feb. 13.03-04p2). This object will be coming within ten lunar distances (LD) of Earth, reaching 5.8 LD on 15 Feb.
MPEC 2008-C84 - "16:04 UT" - 2008 CM116
- K08CB6M 2008 CM116 (H=17.7 ~977m) was discovered at 1009 UT on 10 Feb. by the MLS, which observed it at Feb. 10.42-51p8, 11.33-35p4, and 13.27-29p4. The discovery was confirmed by Spacewatch 1.8m (Feb. 12.30p3 & 13.27-28p3) and KLENOT (Feb. 13.04p2).
MPEC 2008-C83 - "15:59 UT" - 2008 CL116
- K08CB6L 2008 CL116 (risk-listed, Q=4.446 AU, Earth MOID=5.7 LD, H=20.4 ~282m) was discovered at 0945 UT on 10 Feb. by the CSS, which observed it at Feb. 10.41-49p8, 10.53-54p4, and 11.44-45p3. The discovery was confirmed by Saint-Barthelemy Obs. (Feb. 11.00-03p7), Young/Table Mtn. (Feb. 11.54-55p4), KLENOT (Feb. 12.04-05p3), MLS (Feb. 12.45-47p4 & 13.42-44p4), Great Shefford Obs. (Feb. 13.09-10p3), Spacewatch 1.8m (Feb. 13.40-41p3), and Magdalena Ridge Obs. (MRO) (Feb. 13.43-44p4).

- K08CB6J 2008 CJ116 (H=19.3 ~467m) was discovered at 0429 UT on 10 Feb. by the Spacewatch 0.9m telescope, which observed it at Feb. 10.19-22p3 and 11.18-21p3. The discovery was confirmed by Great Shefford Obs. (Feb. 11.08-10p3 & 13.02-03p2), Spacewatch 1.8m (Feb. 11.24-25p3, 11.42-43p3, 12.18-19p3 & 13.19-20p3), KLENOT (Feb. 13.02-03p5), and MLS (Feb. 13.27-29p4).
MPEC 2008-C80 - "15:51 UT" - 2008 CH116
- K08CB6H 2008 CH116 (q=0.271 AU, H=19.1 ~513m) was discovered at 1215 UT on 9 Feb. by the MLS, which observed it at Feb. 9.51-52p4 and 13.47-49p4. The discovery was confirmed by Great Shefford Obs. An impact solution, also known as a "virtual impactor" (VI), is not a prediction but rather a possibility derived from a variant orbit calculation that cannot be eliminated yet based on the existing data. Elimination can come quickly with just a little further observation or may take weeks or months, sometimes years. Once superceded or eliminated, a former impact solution has zero relevance to an object's risk. See Jon Giorgini's "Understanding Risk Pages" to learn more.
